Glitter, stardust in dull, camp form. Hero are you out there, or are you just a shadow?

Does any one remember Diane who used to work at 'Nasty's' the Punk Rock clothes shop? She was just a little older than us and even I had a crush on her!
Last I heard, she had a baby. Anyone know what became of her?

Ahh, Diane, yes she was lovely! My main memory of her is dressed in a tight, all in one leopard print cat suit! The lady was a legend! She ran a cool, friendly and helpful store and was really great with the local punk community.
I also remember Will and Karen very well, who worked in the shop in the early '80s. Again very cool people whom would let you hang out and you could chat with about punk etc all day long. Will had a real Theatre of Hate style image and even jammed with the early KU (he was a great Sax player). They moved to Devon in the end, if memory serves.

Yes she was a top chick hey? And we got to play on the back of the 'Nasty' Float at southend carnival, much to the dismay of just about everyone else there!

That was brilliant! IIRC the Young Liberals were on the float behind and were having quite alot of stuff thrown at them from the Nastys float!

Last I heard of Alien he was a psychiatric nurse, but still with quite radical and liberatory ideas regarding his profession...
I do wonder what ever became of Vints though...

Auntie spent many years in Ireland, had a child but has been back here for about a year and is not long married. John lives in Benfleet works for the Benefits Office, married with a couple of trampolining children, don't know about Vints, Andy Whiting is in HMRC and lives in Southchurch, Steve Pegrum you know. They do of course have their EP and a couple of live tapes from Focus floating around out there.

Hello Diane.
Weird to see your name here. You may remember me (alternatively............) We shared (or shared) the same surname and my greatest treasure is the birthday card from you, Tracy and Coral with the naughty messages.
And yeah, you were quite fanciable ;-) ...and I'm sure you still are.

OK, when I say "treasure" I mean that I haven't got round to throwing it out yet ;-)
And......... the naughty message was actually; "f**k off and stop bothering us!"
And..... I mean we share (or shared) the same surname. If I remember, I used it Monday to Thursday and you had it for the rest of the week.

It's good to hear form you. As soon as I saw mention of a skin tight cat-suit I knew they were talking about you (although, to be honest, the use of the name; Mrs Diane Nasty was a little bit of a clue too.....).
I hope you are happy and healthy and that you still do that thing with the you-know-what and the thingy ;-)
Love and tickles

I remember going down to the shop at lunchtime from the office. There was another pretty girl who also worked there. You used to be able to walk through a connecting doorway to Projection Records to see Barry and the wooden racks full of vinyl. We use to go down the shop with Marcus, Julian, Wayne, Graham, Pad Mander and co.
