Not just any old socks - they were black and pink hoops. I also had a few other flourescent pairs from there. I did buy some natty black drainpipes as well and a button-down shirt which Diane pointed out wasn't a Ben Sherman...

New Crimes was sold there, so was a fanzine called Skatelake by a bloke called Steve who worked in Portcullis House.

Yup, and I had my first fitting for a fetching three piece suit; three button, high break, single vent, brown Harris tweed with Really-Brown (c) lining and 1 1/2 inch turn ups and bus ticket pocket there. Went well with my beige tie and off-white polyester Easy-Iron (c) shirt.
Thinking about it a bit, the above isn't true (the shirt was bluddy difficult to iron). Indeed, I rather think the bespoke services for leopard skin nylon trousers and bondage T shirts were almost entirely absent.
What was name of that place in Leigh - The Broadway, that did the cheap biker jackets?

Was it Gillwoods?
Did Wolf leather jackets... Or am I thinking about a later time?

That is (was) the one (probably).
Apologies for the lacuna, I've been in a coma as a result over indulgence in Sugar Puffs, Wagon Wheels, X Factor and Cresta pop.
