Just got a small record player, and put the southend rock LP on, my god what a mess recording wise, we never had a real studio in Southend in them days(although I have fond memories of Spectrum) Who were the Aliens,? they sound like Devo at 78.Side two is full of old blues and swing,if only we had the Myspace and you tube then.

A good point, well made old horse, I dont know if you ever saw deeno's mob in them days, with Buzz (RIP), on drums, they was a magnicent band, but for reasons best known to thereselves, they thought they would be be better with Dave Dyke and Rob Pavey.......Ho hum...they wasn,t...Im of the oponion that you were a big Speedball-Idiot fan on account of some of your previous posts, but getting back to the "Southend rock" album, Theres a common thread on all of side one, namely a piss thin guitar and drum sound, courtesy of "Spectrum sound studios",....where I believe all of it was recorded. Surely you must have played on something on it? You seem to have been in every band that existed then?...or have I just imagined that.

Yep I saw Deno a lot in 78, mainly at the Shrimpres where i recall them playing a gig with all there good guitars but taking them off on the last number and plugging in some shit ones so they could smash them up, looked good to a lad of 14. Played a few gigs with them at the Esplanade in 79 I think.
