I was saddened to hear of the loss of legendary '70's Horror Film icon Ingrid Pitt this week. I first remember being aware of her in the film 'Where Eagles Dare', but the films that will be stay with me forever were The Vampire Lovers and Countess Dracula. Ingrid had lived an amazing life, she survived the Stutthof concentration camp during the Second World War, and she was making a film about her experiences there just prior to her death. She has appeared in many other films, including parts in The Wicker Man and The House That Dripped Blood. Her daughter, Steffanie Pitt, said her mother had recently been in poor health. She died on Tuesday in a South London hospital. R.I.P. Ingrid www.southendpunk.com/html/ingridpi.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingrid_Pittwww.imdb.com/name/nm0685839/

I saw Ingrid Pitt in "Green Fingers" a 2000 horror directed by Paul Cotgrove, from Hadleigh, must have been something to do with the then Leigh Film Society now The White Bus who do film related stuff 'round here. If I remember correctly he said she was, quite hard to work with. Here's the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=entqzSDabwQ
