For those who remember me ' Punky Jane' spent alot of time squatting in London but did the Southend scene a bit, and you'd never guess what I do now!!!!! LOL

Was that the Royal stores? Actually i think it was a couple of hundred yards from the cinema (The Ritz??) where I clearly remember my nan taking me to see 'Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines' in the late 60s, so what do you do then (oh I sound like the queen on a public visit...)

Bluddy queens...........
Reminds me of the story about the queen at a cup final line up - as she goes down the line she says to all the players ".......and what do you do then?"
If I may be permitted a guess at Ms Seymour's occupation; are you any of the following?
The driver of an articulated lorry. A poet (you wouldn't need to worry). A teacher in a classroom full of scholars. The sergeant in a squadron full of wallahs. A lawyer with strategems and ruses. A doctor with poultices for bruises. A writer (with a growing reputation). The ticket man at Fulham Broadway Station?
Or possibly the opportunities are......
They offered me the office, offered me the shop They said I better take anything they got Do you wanna make tea at the BBC? Do you wanna be, do really wanna be a cop?
Career opportunities are the ones that never knock Every job they offer you is to keep out the dock Career opportunities, the ones that never knock
I hate the army and I hate the RAF I don’t wanna go fighting in the tropical heat I hate the civil service rules And I won’t open letter bombs for you
Career opportunities are the ones that never knock Every job they offer you is to keep out the dock Career opportunities, the ones that never knock
Bus driver! Ambulance man! Ticket inspector!
They’re gonna have to introduce conscription They’re gonna have to take away my prescription If they wanna get me making toys If they wanna get me, well I got not choice
Career opportunities are the ones that never knock Every job they offer you is to keep out the dock Career opportunities, the ones that never knock
Or, possibily a librarian?

Was it the Royal Stores at the top of the hill? I remember going there late one night to hear a lot of very heavy metal being played and witnessed a bloke WALKING around to the music with a pint in his hand. Never seen before or since. Not particularly punk but did anyone go the Radio Caroline Roadshows near Genesta Road? I too need help getting pics on site. Can get the one up of Graham with his home-made Crass badge on the sleeve of his grey jacket....however,does anyone else really want to see 'em?

I remember Caroline Roadshows - didn't they do some at Shrimpers? Amid from some awful toss (and it was really quite tossy) there was the odd Eddie & The Hotrods, Ian Dury and Stranglers songs. I'm not being sexist here (I am) but there were always some dangerously attractive women around in leather trousers and almost non-existent tops. Mind you, on reflection, they probably looked like extras in some soft rock/power ballad video, but were quite stimulating to a young lad at the time (I know this to be true, cos I asked a young lad...........).
My abiding memory was of Thin Lizzy songs and snakebites * * shudder * *
