Does anyone remember the magazine 'New Wave News' from 1977? I wondered how many issues it ran for, and I only remember four? It was Edited by Vic Lime, designed by Michele Mortimer, with contributions from Julie Burchill, Derek Gibb (the guy on the front of the infamous 'New Wave' album cover) and the wonderfully named Cortina S. Tate. I guess in retrospect it was one of the quick 'cash-in' titles put out by the publishing houses from roughly the Summer of '77 onwards. Still, the huge fold out posters were cool! www.southendpunk.com/html/newwaven.html

Yeah i remember it. I actually got a copy when i was on holiday in Ireland with the 'olds' in '77. The poster that issue was of the Clash standing beside a wall and behind them were posters for Leroy Smart, Delroy Willson and Ken Booth Gigs around town. The back drop always stuck in my mind after 'White man' was released. I think the poster on the reverse side was the pistols. But yeah, you were right about 'cashing in' i remember a profile in it on the Stranglers, i reckon my Dad could of written it!!
