Yeah, it's a good site... I like the anecdote about Steve Ignorant meeting you in the Monk & Fisherman and having an encounter with R***.
I'd have liked to have seen him do his Puppet Show- was it traditional Punch & Judy; or did it have a more punk/anarcho flavour?

Hi Bill, yes he did very much traditional punch & judy, complete with the politically incorrect bits. It was very important to him to keep all those old traditions alive, lately he's become very interested in the whole traditional music hall thing, I've seen him do a couple of music hall routines, and I think one of the reasons he did the feeding of the 5000 gigs was the fact that the Sheppards Bush Empire is basically unaltered from its music hall days and he felt he was kind of part of that whole thing as this text from the poster produced by Bracketpress shows;

I have the honour, gentlemen, to produce to you that species of the drama, which, from the corruption of its original principles, and the inaudability of its later professors, has sunk into disrepute. It is an exhibition at which few of you have been present since your emancipation from the nursery, and to so low a state has it been reduced, that, like the thespian comedy, it has been carried about in carts to harvest-homes, wakes and country fairs; of if it has approached our capital cities, it has appeared in no nobler place than a neglected garret, or a delapidated suburban stable.

Graham, when I saw you the other week- did I tell you that I watched that German-made Crass documentary, on the internet, recently? It was Great- loads of rare footage of them performing; and long interviews with Penny, Steve & Gee. You were in it quite a bit too- talking about perma-culture workshops and also- explaining the compost toilet... which appeared to be the bottom part of a plastic kitchen bin with a toilet seat balanced on top! While you were talking- Penny is standing beside you completely naked- and looking, for all the world, like the Hermit from The Life of Brian (the one with the juniper bushes!) Televisual gold, mate, awesome!
