Southend Punk was saddened to hear of the passing of legendary Rock'n'Roll Guitarist Wayne Kramer. (né Kambes; April 30th, 1948 – February 2nd, 2024). Wayne was the co-founder of incendiary Detroit Rock 'n' Roll band MC5 in 1967, who recorded three truly seminal albums. Wayne had a prolific career, including stints in several other bands such as Gang War with Johnny Thunders, and he recently contributed to Alice Cooper's album 'Detroit Stories'. His book 'The Hard Stuff' is really worth a read. I had the pleasure of seeing him live several times over the years, and he was always transcendent in his energy, playing and spirit, and perhaps the greatest of all the gigs I saw of his was the MC50 show at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2018, a show that I swear he really levitated the venue, it was that good. Kick out The celestial Jams Wayne...
