Southend Punk was saddened to hear of the passing of Richard Seager. Richard was a lovely man and a crucial character in the town's Punk / Alternative scene. Along with Dave Tulloch, he co-founded legendary fanzine 'Strange Stories', and after the first three issues carried on running the fanzine himself, which ran for 20 issues from 1977 - 1979. He also wrote further fanzines, including 'Attitude' which ran for several issues in the Eighties. As well as being an attendee at many legendary punk gigs, Richard also dabbled in band management, firstly with The Machines whom he co-managed with Dave Tulloch, and then The Vandals. R.I.P.
