A Kickstarter campaign has been launched by Graham Burnett to fund his book - 'Southend on Zine' - which is all about Southend’s alternative press and fanzine underground. With over 200 pages and featuring a wealth of interviews and dozens of beautifully reproduced full-page covers and original artwork, this will be both a history and a celebration of Southend's often forgotten 'alternative' and DIY culture, as told through the pages of the fanzines, people’s papers and community magazines made in the town between 1971 and 2021. Great to see a copy of 'Southend on Zine' by Graham Burnett. It is now available to order from Graham's website, Spiralseed. 'Southend on Zine' Book by Graham BurnettThe book will be of a lot of interest to those interested in the alternative culture of Southend on Sea, and features many interviews with the protagonists whom were involved in creating such publications as Mushroom, Necrology, Alive and Kicking, Hard as Nails, Noisy! and Graham's own publication-New Crimes. There are many photos and sections of some of the 'Zines contents, as well as a Southend Playlist and much more. Enjoy! x
