Southend Punk was saddened to hear of the passing of legendary Harmonica player Lew Lewis. Lew was in an early version of Eddie & The Hot Rods and played on their first two singles, and later went solo and then formed his own bands such as the Lew Lewis Reformer. He achieved a lot of success at this time, and guested on albums by bands such as The Stranglers and The Clash.
In 2017, Lew joined The Stranglers onstage at The Cliffs Pavilion to play on 'Old Codger' - an excellent clip of this can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW4cQq1l8T4
