Got the new copy of The BT Phone Book yesterday and it was funny seeing Al as the paint splattered painter on the cover!
He says that it's his ingenious way of infiltrating every home in the land...

I was in a band called the Clansman, and had been asked to go to London to audition for a Budwieser advert, Alice drove us and went for a beer while one by one we were told that we was not what they was looking for, when Alice came back to collect us, the agency said hmmm you have the right face. The band split that very same day.

He does loads of different things, these days...
He did the Stage Lighting for that Crass & Conflict 2-dayer we went to in November; he's got a Radio show; he's an actor etc. etc...
I saw him once on The South Bank Show - when they did a programme about the authoress Ruth Rendell - they were reading an extract from one of her books and he was portraying the mysterious character that was being described...
