Thursday nights eh? Wasn't it? Mmmmm....
Very happy memories. Was the DJ called Boz? (was he from The Hitmen?)
I won vouchers for Falmers jeans and two tickets to see Breaking Glass in a dancing competition (I kid ye not).
The School Bullies were always good value there. For the life of me I cannot remember who else played there, other than it always seemed to be The Steve Hooker Band every other week.
Anyway, a cool name for a club eh? * * cough * *

I think it means that someone has "exalted" you- as opposed to "smiting" you...
(It wasn't me.)

Well, it was mainly local bands but you had the Ruts, Tenpole Tudor, Newtown Neurotics, Attilla the Stockbroker and the Mo-dettes from out of town. The downside of going to scamps was negotiating the gang of skinheads in the High Street afterwards.

Vicars played there at least three times. The AbDabs played there as well. Someone will be along soon to tell you how many times I'm sure.

Yes indeed, Abdabs played there lots and lots. Even less interestingly myself and Alf did the only gig with our soul band "Yazoo" there. The final pair of Abdabs gigs at the Bridge house and Dingwalls were also performed under that moniker, then Alf took the name with her to her next band.....

Someone will be along soon to tell you how many times I'm sure. Told ya! (Mick, at this moment in time, you have exactly 200 more posts than me. Appreciation for that useless piece of information is................... expected!)

The downside of going to scamps was negotiating the gang of skinheads in the High Street afterwards. Ah, but that was half a minor part of the fun. I really don't remember most of those bands playing there. Perhaps I didn't go. Perhaps I didn't post the original questiom, perhaps I don't exist. Perhaps......just perhaps..... I still think I may have dreamed the "Boz" bit. perhaps the Dickensian spirit has overtaken me due to the festive season.
