Hi Steve, a couple of other Basildon venues worth mentioning are the Double Six and Roundacre. The Double Six has been demolished, which some might consider an improvement. I found this: www.basildon.com/history/innspubs/dsph.htmlon the Double Six. As far as I know, Roundacre is still there. I can't remember much about either, but saw several bands at each. Maybe others have better memories than me.

The Roundacre brings back some memories, other than many bands seen there, i remember catching a train to play there ourselves and carrying the equipment to the gig from the station, dont know if it was because we hadn't any transport, or that we wanted to drink!!! If my memory is correct some one dropped the snare drum in the pedestrian underpass on the way and we nearly had a heart attack mistaking it for a gunshot.
