I found this site and thought I'd share a guilty secret. I was the bass player in The Regulators, who appeared on the TV programme " Something Else" along with our singers girlfriend, cub reporter Elke Tullet. I still see Elke occasionally, she lives in Leigh with her actor husband and 2 kids. I've lots of memories of that time, though not in any order.
I have what may be the only video copy of the programme. Keith Walker (our singer) had an early VHS machine and he recorded it, and somehow I ended up with the only copy. I'm trying to get it on to DVD.
After the Regulators split up I formed The Basey Brothers and now I sing with The Zoltans.I gave up bass some years ago ( many people breath sigh of relief) but still play regularly.
I'm toying with the idea of reforming The Regulators for my birthday next year, though none of them know this yet. I rarely see any of them so it may be difficult! I'll keep looking on here now I've found the site.

Hi Graham yes that's me,so that's you then! Do you still play at all, or is it a lost art like my bass playing? Still got the bass mind, tucked away in a cupboard. My pension!
I'll say hello to Elke next time I see her. She whetted her appetite for TV on Something Else and went on to reporting for London tonight, and last time I saw her she was a producer for LWT. I see her dad a lot, he doesn't seem to have got any older at all. I wish I could say the same!

Ask him (wasn't his name Malcolm??) if he still remembers 'Stoney Broke'! (and tell him I still am...) As for playing, I picked up the gutiar again after not playing for about 15 years when thrust into doing some 'therapuetic music sessions' at my workplace, and now I play at work reguarly and at home for fun, although the family don't really appreciate my efforts! I've bought myself a 4 track recorder though and have done a few recordings, including some stuff in support of our allotments campaign last summer, heres my songs uploaded at www.spiralseed.co.uk/songs/Cheers, Graham

Peter - Ijust thought, do you know Chris Izod who runs Videa Productions (who do all those Southend & Leigh archive videos and DVDs, eg, Tales of Old Leigh, A Trip to the Kursaal and all that stuff), he may be able to help you with copying the video to DVD, and may even want a copy for one of his own archive projects... Let me know and I'll put you in touch with him...
