In 1983 a whole bunch of us from Southend, Canvey and surrounds headed down to the Elephant Fayre festival in St. Germans Cornwall. On the Friday night Clint Eastwood and General Saint played and on the Sat it was the Cure. My memory is a bit fragmented, but i do recall Me, Mark Bristow and Spider went down in my old Marina van. We met up with Mole and all the Canvey boys (Nimroy, Pat Webster, Phil Smith and others...) and Siz, Janice, Wendy, Donald, Pat and allthough he didnt come down with us, Dave Ashley from the legendary No6. There must have been around 30 of us. Can anyone remember this weekend? The weather was sensational and it was just one of those great festivals where everyone just had a good time. There is a website dedicated to the event at ukrockfestivals.com/elephant_fayre_1981-86.html After the Stonehenge experience this was how it should be done!
