At the X Ray Spex gig I picked up a copy of The Directors cut DVD of 'She's a Punk Rocker UK' - the documentary by Zillah Minx of Rubella Ballet about Punk Rock women - The DVD features great interviews with Poly Styrene, Gaye Advert, Caroline Coon, Julie Burchill, Helen of Troy, Eve Libertine & Gee, Vi Subversa, Michelle (Brigandage), Ruth and Janet (Hagar The Womb), Justine (Grechen Hoffner), Lou (Evil I), Yashoda Mad Mary (Poly Styrene's Bodyguard), Olga (Youth in Asia), Nettie Baker and Rachel Minx. The interviews are interspersed with rare footage and photos and I have to say it's very refreshing to see a documentary that covers the anarcho period so well. I know the film had a screening at a cinema in Leicester Square last year at which SouthendPunk friend China Doll of '100 Punks' supplied some art work, but in relation to getting hold of a copy, the best thing to do is visit: www.southendpunk.com/html/punkrock.htmlwww.myspace.com/shesapunkrockeruk
