The re union gig is now at The Bar And Lamb on Sat Oct 7th, anyone with an interest to play some numbers could you get in contact? It looks like Dave Idols new band & maybe some Burning Idols stuff, The Prey, The Vultures, Stevet, a house band doing some classic Southend tunes like, No Survivors and Ging gang and there was talk of the Three Mothers with Gary Higgs and John Jenkins.

Re-union update, bumped into Paul Eves at The Spread Eagle, and he will be coming on stage to do a few numbers with myself and Peat Melling of the convicted, and Gary Higgs of the Three Mothers on bass, no doubt Ging Gang will have a place in the set.

Any chance of making this an annual event? It would give us blokes on the other side of the planet a chance to get organised and get back for it. I think i can still remember the 3 chords that i used for all the Icons songs!

That sounds painfull. can you let me know if he can make it? otherwise I will have to find someone to spin the 45s. There is a Feature in the Echo about the reunion on Wednesday. It has been hard trying to get the bands together, The Three Mothers have decided they wont be ready, and Dave Idol cant make it, so Steve pulling out would be a blow. Good news is that Smarty is playing now.

Update on reunion. The upstairs bar will be open from 6ish and will be playing punk Cd's and DVDs, the bar staff are dressing as punks to get in the spirit of things. The order of bands is the Prey, Smartie, John Jenkins, Retrospex, Phil Black with Retrospex and the Vultures. Phil Black may be DJ if Stevet is still in hospital. Hope to see you all there.

Dear All Spoke to steves wife today, and went to see steve in hospital this afternoon. He is gutted as he was looking forward to it, but he gets discharged tomm (Fri) and has been told he will be unable to walk for a few days and will need bed rest. He was told origianally that the operation was due to be in Nov, but was called last week as they had a bed available. He wants to still do it, but has been told that is will not be possible, must say he looks unwell. Will pass on any messages, and hope to attend myself on sat Paul

Thanks to all that showed up at the re-union gig, it was a great night, but quite knackering for myself. Thanks to all those who were honest enough to put their fiver in the bucket after a cock up with the doorman. It was a shame that Lee Andrews had to leave before he could do his set with the Prey, but Flo stepped in and saved the night. Also John Jenkins from the Mother's had to pull out at the last min. Phil Black and Anorexic Dread were the best bit of the whole night for me, and Little dog( smartie) were ace. The club wants another one on 30th December, so I will get cracking and see who is interested, maybe Stevet can DJ for that date. If anyone has any pics of the night could they send them to retrospex@tiscali.co.uk?

Yeah, thanks Andi, for all the obvious hard work that went into putting it on! It was an excellent evening, but what happened to Ging Gang Gooley?
